Client: Binho (USB Host Adapter & Development Tools)
Challenge:
Binho needed to bring some attention to their Nova multi-protocol USB host adapter in the maker community. Unlike traditional microcontroller projects, the Binho Nova connects sensors directly to a computer and uses Python for control—a unique paradigm that needed clear demonstration. The company wanted compelling content that would show developers practical applications and inspire creative projects.
What I Delivered:
I designed and built a Smart Glove Computer Mouse—a wearable input device that showcased the Binho Nova’s ability to easily integrate I2C sensors with computer control, all while highlighting potential assistive technology applications.

Deliverables:
- Complete project design using Binho Nova with SparkFun Qwiic components
- Custom 3D-printed enclosure and sensor guides
- Fully documented Python code with clear explanations
- Comprehensive written tutorial (step-by-step instructions with photos)
- Cross-platform compatibility demonstration (PC, Mac, Linux)
- Published on both Hackster.io and Instructables for maximum reach
Measurable Results:
- 4,900+ views on Hackster.io and 1,300+ views on YouTube
- Featured prominently on Binho’s official blog for product marketing
- Cross-published on Instructables, expanding reach to multiple maker communities
- Included in Hackster’s curated compilation of top mouse projects
- Project picked up by maker community blogs and aggregators
Why It Worked:
- Demonstrated a practical, interesting use case for the Binho Nova’s unique approach
- Clear documentation made it easy for developers to understand and replicate
- Highlighted the product’s advantage over traditional microcontroller workflows
- Mentioned assistive technology applications, showing broader potential beyond novelty
- Accessible to intermediate makers with clear Python examples
Client Impact:
Binho used the project as a featured example of their product’s capabilities on their official website and blog. The project successfully demonstrated how the Binho Nova simplifies sensor integration and computer control, helping potential customers understand the value proposition of their unique development platform.
